Strong Kashmir to fortify Pakistan: Iftikhar Riaz lauds Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s sacrifices

PESHAWAR (APP): Taking to the visiting Azad Jammu & Kashmir Minister for Information, Environment and Overseas Kashmiris, Mehmood Riaz, and Abdul Majid Khan on Wednesday, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein to Mian Iftikhar said that provincial autonomy does not mean succession from Pakistan as it is our identity, saying that strong provinces would make Pakistan strong. He said that they want a strong Kashmir that will strengthen Pakistan.


On this occasion, the provincial minister also briefed the ministers of AJK on the sacrifices of the people and personnel of law-enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism and reiterated his resolve that the war would continue till the elimination of the last terrorist. “The provincial government has neither wavered in the face of terrorism and will not bow before them, now.” he concluded.

Speaking on the occasion, both ministers of AJK paid tributes to the role of the frontline province in war against terrorism for the national salvation and integrity of Pakistan.
They were of the view that the people of Azad Kashmir recognized the role of the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in their struggle for independence. He said that the people of Kashmir feel grief on terror incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They congratulated the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for achievement of identity and attributed it to long struggle of the leadership of ANP.They also expressed confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and said that for first time in the history of Pakistan Kashmiri leadership were accorded red carpet welcome at President House, Islamabad.They also appreciated the reconciliatory politics of PPP and said that the President Asif Ali Zardari was taking all political parties along, which is need of the hour.

Talking to the AJK ministers, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein said that the handing over of powers to the provinces under 18th Constitutional Amendment has strengthened Pakistan. He said that ANP appreciates the principle stance of the government of Pakistan on Kashmir and also support it.
He said that back the independence of Kashmiris from India to enable them to take breath in independent environment in shape of a nation and make decisions on their own.
