Muslim Conference, JUI (F) join hand in AJK elections


ISLAMABAD, May 31 (APP) - All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and AJK Jamiat Ulama Islam (F) forged alliance for AJK elections of Legislative Assembly being held on June 26. Addressing a press conference here Tuesday, AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan said this alliance was the long cherished desire of JUI-F’s chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman and himself as well. The AJK Prime Minister pinned high hopes on Muslim Conference and JUI (F)’s alliance to be instrumental in wielding interfaith harmony, political stability as well as positive impacts on both sides of the divide.


“Today I formally announce the alliance between Muslim Conference and JUI-F,” Sardar Attique said, adding the consensus had been evolved after thorough consultations.
Both the parties, the AJK Prime Minister said, did not have much to differ on almost all the issues including freedom struggle in held valley, solidarity with Pakistan and Kashmir policy.
He said unanimity of views bring both the parties closer to each other, besides situation in AJK also wanted to go for such a collaboration.

“We can’t afford uncertainty in AJK. We need to have parliamentary co-existence and religious harmony,” the AJK Prime Minister said.

Sardar Attique also hinted alliances with other candidates and parties, but he did not mention who they would be and in which constituencies.

JUI-F’s leader in AJK Maulana Syed Yousuf besides some other prominent figures of his party were also present in the press conference.'
