In defense of Syed Ali Geelani

To admire Geelani, it is not necessary to subscribe to his political views. But like it or not  he has made his place in the hearts & minds of  Kashmiris, young & old. In fact he has already occupied the centre-stage of Kashmir politics, wherefrom it will be impossible to de-throne him in immediate future.
In more ways than one, India itself is responsible for this situation and the mess it is finding  itself in Kashmir today. By indulging in  political misadventures from day one, sheer apathy & indifference towards the political aspirations of people, the promotion of unaccountable governance, the  grievances of Kashmiris' have  transformed into despair & hatred throughout the Kashmir valley.
